Eckinger Law has participated in various appeals in the Fifth District and Ninth District Court of Appeals in the last couple years.  Below are links to several of the Court opinions, all of which were in favor of Eckinger Law’s clients.  In fact, in two of the three below cases, Eckinger Law successfully overturned the trial court’s decision.

  • 2025- Ninth District Court of Appeals (Massie v. Stamp)
    • Eckinger Law represented Appellant.  Obtained reversal of trial court’s granting of summary judgment in large dispute over the language of original trust and amendment by wife after husband’s death.
  • 2024 – Fifth District Court of Appeals (Estate of Ortiz v. Cicconetti)
    • Eckinger Law represented Appellant.  Obtained reversal of trial court decision whereby Court deemed a transfer on death affidavit to be invalid.  On appeal, Appellate Court found that the Stark County Probate Court erred in finding the affidavit did not comply with R.C. 5302.22.
  • 2023 — Fifth District Court of Appeals (In re Estate of Murphy v. Murphy)
    • Eckinger Law represented Appellee.  Judgment Entry in favor of our client, Estate Administrator, against alleged child of decedent seeking to to intervene in Estate. On appeal, decision upheld.
